In those days there was no minimum age- children could be called upon as witnesses in a court of law as soon as they were able to form sentences and were capable of being aware of the wider world around them. However, even back then they were usually treated kindly by the judge and the barristers, who knew that the courtroom could be an intimidating place for them to be in.
It would depend on what state you are in. I know that in Nevada you have to be 18 to witness a wedding.
