Hryhory Kostiuk has written: 'Stalinist rule in the Ukraine'
Stalin stated that the abolition of class antagonisms was the reason that there were no political parties opposed to the Communist Party. The dominance of the Communist Party was formally recognized in his 1936 Constitution. Stalin put forth the idea that political parties were a reflection of class struggles against one another. Since that no longer existed in the Soviet Union, there was no need for any other party. This idea he borrowed from Lenin. This Stalinist position must leave any rational person aghast. Lenin held the same position.
