Muscle cars were not about top speed but rather about 1/4 mile speed. The 1966 Cobra 427 V8 was the fastest car of the 60s with a 1/4 mile speed of 12.2 seconds at 118 mph.
#2. 1966 Corvette 427

The fastest muscle car in need for speed carbon is either dodge challenger The fastest tuner in need for speed carbon is the lancer evolution 9 The fastest exotic would either be the porsche carerra or the audi that the last guy has Hope this helped
The 1968 hurst hemi 10.30@130mph
As far as top speed, the 201mph Ferrari F40 was the fastest. However, the 1987 GNX was a muscle car and was designed for acceleration. In this area, it was by far the fastest.
It's entirely a matter of your own opinion! Different people look for different things in a car, it's up to the individual to decide for the themselves- objectively there is no 'best' or 'worst'.
in my opinion i think it could be a lamborghini murcielago whitch is the fastest exotic you can own, or a corvette z06 which is the fastest muscle ,or a mitsubishi lancer evolution which is the fastest tuner.
One iconic car of the 60s was the thunderbird. Another popular was the 1964 Impala.
Some experts agree that the 1949 Oldsmobile Rocket 88 was the first muscle car. By the standards of 1949 it was the fastest car you could buy and it had an OHV V8, (135 h.p.) By todays standards it was not very fast. The 1964 Pontiac GTO on the other hand was the first muscle car that really had some muscle with a V8 producing 350 h.p.
the cars of the 60s were mainly muscle cars but there were more like the Volkswagen's, Oldsmobile's, sedan, and pickup trucks.
Ford's GT-500 is currently the fastest production MUSCLE car. Corvette does not count as it is a performance car like mentioned above. American does not mean muscle. -- If you want to split hairs, the corvette is a "sports car", the mustang is a "pony car", the Dodge Charger srt-8 is the fast "muscle car" by definition. Everyone of my dozen or so "Muscle car" books have the corvette in them. -------------- First off- I agree with above, Every muscle car book ever published has corvettes in them. FACT, yes it is really a sports car like said above. Yes the mustang is a pony car, not really categorized as a muscle car, I.E. mid size performance vehicles. Second- The viper has a top speed around 206mph, so it is faster than the vette and GT500. The new Shelby gt500 has a 202mph top speed, but it is really a tuner car. Just like the hurst hemi's (still the fastest 1/4mile car produced in the usa)and Baldwin motion chevy's of the 60's. Lingenfelter vehicles today... which are a lot faster.
My hotwheel car is candas fastest production car.
