Canadore College in North Bay Ontario started the development in 1984 of Canada's first level III Interactive Videodisc (IVD). The college was a part of a consortium with a number of other colleges in Ontario. In that time they developed a number of IVD but there was no computer program to control the disc. However, in 1989 the Goldcoin Consortium released Canada's first fully IVD called Trades Calculations.
