Rock around the Clock by Bill Haley and His Comets is the best known But at this time, there were songs around before that have used the term Rock and Roll. It is well known that Elvis went to see Bill Haley perform. Anyway yeah it is kinda hard to answer but I do believe that Rock around the Clock is the widely accepted first Rock and Roll hit. Most Rockabilly like Elvis and Carl Perkins was regional at first.
