A spaghetti western is a cowboy movie filmed in Italy but made to look like it was made in the "Old West". Italy has terrain similar to that of western USA and movies were less expensive to film there.

∙ 12y agoSergio Leone was the director of the " Spaghetti Westerns" because all the crew and cast (except just a couple of the main cast) were all Italian, they were even made in some parts of Italy and mainly in the Spanish plains.
So basically as the movies were all Italian people have just used the name to differentiate the American & Sergio Leone's films.
