With the end of WWII andthe steel manufacturing/ technology advancement that it produced. The automobile industry took off, more makes models were avail. and at a price more people could afford, due to mass production and increased people in the work force. Traveling longer distances were avail., populations were able to spread out more( not having to live close to where you work).
