The largest guerrilla operation of the US Civil War took place in Kansas in 1863. The Confederate led guerrillas numbering almost 500 men raided Lawrence, Kansas. 150 civilian deaths were the terrible results. The guerrillas then escaped into Missouri, avoiding Union troops that were planning to pursue them.
None of the above.
guerrilla warfare
guerrilla warfare was the main style
civil war
No major Civil War battles but lots of raids and guerrilla activity.
Guerrilla warfare is basically hit and run under cover, so the Vietcong during the Vietnam war used guerrilla warfare to combat American soldiers. During the US Civil War, the Rebels also used guerrilla warfare.
It is a civil war. If you engage in war to overthrow the current government, it's called a revolutionary war. If it's a war between people in the same country, it's called a civil war. If it's a group of people fighting against the government, it's called a resistance movement or a liberation movement. If the small group happens to engage in guerrilla tactics against their own government, it's also called a guerrilla war.
The US civil war
It wasn't that unique. Francis Marion (the Swamp Fox) was successful during the American Revolutionary War; Quantrill was successful during the American Civil War (US Civil War)...as two examples. Nearly all wars have had and will continue to have some sort of "guerrilla" warfare.
Juan Martin Diez
they wanted some real gorillas
That is the correct spelling for "guerrilla" for soldiers employing asymmetrical warfare. It is from Spanish (little war). The other term, the largest living primate, is the gorilla.
