Production shifted from Belgium to Japan, between 1972 and 73.

Up to 1975. A few were still made in Belgium in 1976 when A5 production shifted to Japan.
They were made in the 1930s and there is no serial list by year. These are NOT Brownings but were made for the SEARS store by various makers, but not the Browning Arms Co. It was built on Brownings patent and made by Stevens.
They were first made and imported into the U.S. by Browning in the year 1903.The last year for Belgium made shotguns was 1975.

The SN doesn't follow any of Brownings pattern. Perhaps the Browning website can help: http://www.browning.com/customerservice/dategun/detail.asp?id=13
