In 2012, the minimum wage in Georgia was $7.25 an hour, persuant to federal minimum wage regulations. This was $2.13 for tipped employees.

State law requires employers who employ at least 6 employees and who do not fall under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act to pay at least $5.15 an hour, with exemptions for those who have annual sales of $40,000 or less, are farm owners, share croppers, land renters, or employ only domestic employees.
