the eastern Roman Empire was known as the bazantine empire which carryed on after the western roman empire fell due to crruption greed and rebellion of the provinces. the west and east empire split in to because the western roman empire wich was ruled by constantine reverted to Christianity this controvirsy around the empire and after constantines death in 337 ad. at the age of 65 the roman senite arugued amongsted each other over power as well as the gauls barbarans and germanic tribes pillaging roman towns and cities and the riots of the roman towns people

the east and west eventuley split with the west falling in the hands of the guals wile the east still stayed in power but it still had problems with the tirks and the muslims so the bazentine empire teamed up with the holy roman empire and went to capture jeruselam wich was the start of the crusades but eventuly after 4 crusades by there allies the bazentines started losing there empire and eventuley in May 29, 1453 constantinople fell to the ottoman tirks and that was the end of the bazentine empire
