There were two atomic bombs dropped On Japan during ww two. The first hit The city of Hiroshima on August 6 1945 and the second was dropped on Nagasaki three days later on august ninth. The two aircraft that delivered the weapons were B29's. They were nick named Enola Gay and Box Car. Japan surrendered shortly after in September 1945.
