Due to all the automobile factories located in Michigan it was only natural that when World War 2 broke out, those automobile factories would change their product from cars to tanks, planes, military vehicles such as jeeps and troop transporters. Because of this Michigan received the nickname of 'Arsenal of Democracy'.
