During WW 2, there were underground fighters that hid from the Germans so they might continue to work sabotage on the German occupying army. The outcome was that some were caught and executed and some were not. Now once the war unfolded it began to be clear that the Germans were setting up "concentration camps" Some camps were for political enemies, that sounds logical but some were genocidal death camps for Jewish people. Some Jews were able to hide or escape from Europe but many who tried to hide were discovered and sent to the death camps.
