The progressive movement was started as a way to socialize America and redistribute the wealth in the country. Presidents Woodrow Wilson and Theodore Roosevelt were both considered champions of the movement. It continues today. MAny believe it is not right that there are super rich folks and very poor folks. On the surface that sounds like a good thing but the simple truth is that nobody has ever worked for a poor man. If we didn't have rich people there would be no factories and no incentive for people to start small businesses. Why would they if the government is just going to take what they earn.
The progressive movement continues today. The present day leaders are Barack Obama, BIll and Hillary Clinton, Jim Kerry, John McCain and so on. Notice if you will the interesting conundrum here. All of these folks are super rich but it's not their money they want to give to the poor. IT's everyone else's money.
