The opening shots of the War were at Manila Bay were by the US Asiatic Squadron and resuleted in the destruction of the Philippine Squadron. The Navy blockaded Cuba and when the Spanish Caribbean Squadron made an attempted break out it was sunk. The Navy sailed into Guam and took it without spilling a drop of blood.
