World War 1 started all because a group called "the black hand" assasinate arch duke Franz Ferdinand in sarajevo, so austro-Hungary went to war with serbia, and so Russia backed up serbia in the war and Germany backed up austro-Hungary, and then France backed up Russia, so then Germany had to go through Belgim to get to France and then Britain helped Belgim
