If my interpretation of Judges chapter 7 is correct;
The 300 soldiers of Gideon were armed with empty pitchers, lamps and trumphets to do battle with the " Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude"
Judges chapter 7 says they had molotovs and ak-47 and armored vehicles and spears.

Gideon was a judge in Israel who was called by God to lead his people in battle against the Midianites. Gideon initially doubted that he was the chosen one, but after signs and miracles from God, he gathered an army and defeated the Midianites with only 300 men by using unconventional tactics. Gideon's story is one of faith, obedience, and victory through God's power.

Yes. Judges 7:1: "Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon ..."Scholars say that his birth name must have been Jerubbaal but that the author of Judges refused to use this name in describing how Yahweh chose him to deliver the Israelites from the Midianites. Elsewhere, he is always called Jerubbaal.
A:Jerubbaal was also known in the Bible as Gideon, but scholars believe that Jerubbaal was his real name. The online JewishBible suggests that Joash named his son at birth Jerubaal and not Gideon. In Judges chapters 6-8, God called Gideon at a time when the Midianites were oppressively ruling over Israel. He led an uprising against the Midianites with a very small force of men. The author of Judges, a staunch, unswerving devotee of Yahweh as the God of Israel, could not write the story of the hero who had been chosen to drive out the Midianite menace, when his name was associated with Baal. Hence, he devised the name Gideon to use only in telling this story and nowhere else in the Bible. Elsewhere, his actual name, Jerubbaal, was used.
The Hyksos used chariots and bronze weapons to defeat the ancient Egyptians. They used a time of political weakness between dynasties when no one was sure who would take over the throne.

No one else was able to defeat Grendel because he was protected by a magical charm that made him impervious to weapons from humans. Beowulf was able to defeat Grendel because he fought him with his bare hands, which allowed him to overcome the monster's defenses.
