A lot of the weapons systems in use today were in use in the 1980s, but without the current upgrades. The M16 rifle was in use, albeit it was A1 and A2 models. The 4.2 inch mortars were in use, and have since been replaced by 120mm mortars. The M60 was the primary general purpose machine gun of the time, and has since been replaced with the M240. The M47 Dragon Anti-Tank Guided Weapon has been replaced with the Javelin system, and the M72 LAW rockets are fully phased out in favour of the M134 (AT4).
