Hitler's aim was to abolish the terms of Treaty of Versailles, conquer land in Europe for the settlement of the growing population of Germany, and exterminate the Jews.

However, Hitler was very careful about his policies since he did not want to alarm the great powers and needed time to build up his military powers.

In 1936, Hitler reoccupied the Rhineland, saying that it was originally a part of Germany. Then in 1938, Hitler sent troops to take over Austria, claiming that people in Austria was Germans, too.

In order to stop his aggression while not violating the appeasement, Britain and France signed a treaty with Hitler in the Munich Conference (1938) . In the treaty, Germany was allowed to invade part of Czechoslovakia (which was an independent country) without objection from Britain and France. In return, Hitler promised that he would not continue with his agression.

Afterwards, Hitler wanted to invade Poland. To prevent objection from the USSR, Hitler reached an agreement with Stalin (president of the USSR) that they would not attack each other. Finally, Hitler invaded Poland and started WWII.

As for policies concerning the Jews, Hitler first aroused hatred towards the Jews. He gave orders to put up signs on the windows of Jews' shops. The Jews were forced to wear an arm band. Later, Hitler set up ghettos and forced the Jews to live there. He also set up concentration camps such as Auschwitz-Birkenau, in which the Jews were forced to work until exhaustion. Then the Jews were either shot, burnt, or sent into gas chambers and died.

Hitler was originally a socialist, hence his backing of the Nazi (Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei) Party, the National Socialist German Workers' Party.

He really didn't have a lot of interest in economics. He once talked about how nobody ever really attained power through economics, but could be killed by them.

In practice, his government mostly maintained the old capitalist system of the Weimar Republic (even though in the 1920's, Hitler had insisted he was a socialist and would overturn Weimar capitalism). Major companies thrived, while laws were passed outlawing strikes, unions and collective bargaining. However, Hitler's government had no problem nationalizing companies that did not do what he wanted. As long as companies and business leaders contributed to the war effort, and went along with what the government demanded of them, they were otherwise allowed to function as they saw fit.

Hitler was not a Socialist, as he never advocated the abolition of wage labour. He was a racist and an authoritarian.
