There were several great cars in the 1950's. A few of the cars were the Jaguar XK120, Ford Thunderbird, MG MGA 1500, and Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato.
There are 6 volt car batteries, but you are only likely to encounter them in really old cars, like late 50s early 60s.
All modern cars today are for the most part 12 volts DC. Some older cars from the 50s back were 6 volt.
Production cars are the Volkswagen Schwimmkuebelwagen or the Amphicar produced in Germany in the 50s.
