In 1598-1599, society's expectations of women were primarily centered around marriage, motherhood, and domestic responsibilities. Women were expected to marry at a young age and bear children to fulfill their primary role as wives and mothers. They were also expected to maintain the household, manage the servants, and oversee the upbringing of their children. Women had limited rights and opportunities for education or pursuing careers outside of the home.
