PLease! The DingoBot is wrong.. nothing is repeated. 3 main themes are written about.
When speaking about the 1960's Civil Rights Movement in the United States there were several themes and more than one Civil Rights leader. Here are some important themes of that time period:
A. One of the most famous leaders was Martin Luther King Jr. His group (along with other groups ) was to end the various obstacles in several Southern States preventing many Afro-Americans from voting. Such things like a "poll tax" come to mind, or intimidation of potential Black voters;
B. King also wanted to end the violence that was created by groups such as the Ku Klux Klan. They were responsible for such things a church bombings in the South;
C. Groups of White people who wanted to help the Civil Rights movement, traveled South and some were killed and many harassed by law enforcement official or angry groups of Southern anti Black people. King and others sought to end this type of "fear" that was imposed on people in favor of Civil Rights; and
D. One much overlooked theme of the 1960's Civil Rights movement was a much smaller group of Afro-Americans, who formed groups of Islamic Blacks as a method to protect themselves and to find, for them anyway, a new religion.
