No. Horses are used for riding and as pets as well.
Horses are or at least were used for pulling carriges, being ridden and farming work. There are lots of other things that horses do.
They used them for farming and transportation.
Horses were used for transportation between countries which helped determine the countries trade. They were also used highly for farming and without farming many people would have starved. Horses would plough the land and help water it. Horses were also used for saving people, the doctors, messengers and water tanks to put out fires were all carried by horses. Hope this helps!
In many part of the world horses are still used as they have been for thousands of years. Automobiles are not practical for many people, espcially those living in very rural areas where roads, gas stations, and mechanics are nonexistant. On modern American ranches there are still jobs that only a horse and rider can do, such as cutting and herding cattle.
before motorbikes people would use horses alot more for the same stuff e.g. people used horses to do farming an now they use motorbikes
at Apppomattox Court House it was said the rebs could keep their horses to be used for farming.
In the 1900s people used horses for farming, trasportation, (even if they had cars) food, leather, and riding.
NO! Horses are still extremely loved by milions and millions of people all over the world! I am one of them :) and just because we dont use them for things that we used to, like work or farming , doesn't mean the age of horses has passed !!!!
Clydesdales were and still are powerful working horses. Prior to the dawn of the tractor they would be used extensively in farming for pulling heavy loads, farming equipment, etc. In addition they were used as for pulling delivery's of goods in towns / cities (e.g. dairy firms and brewery's would use them for pulling waggons of goods).
