Several times, the Manifesto clearly states "Communism is feared all across Europe but never understood." This is true. Communists are still feared today and not understood. They believe in this perfect society which looks good on paper but frankly- some are too willing to have it so they do things they should not. But this can come with any political belief, and Communism is stereotyped as a terrible thing as soon as the word is uttered.

The Communist Manifesto was a piece of literature published in 1847. The basis of it was the fact that Karl Marx was hungry. Simply that, he was fed up with his meager job and the lack of material possessions while the bourgeoisie got rich off of the production on the foundations of the underpaid and under cared for workers.

Marx actually never intended the Manifesto's revolution to begin in Russia, instead he wanted the revolution to take place in one of the more industrially developed nations at the time (Britain, France, Germany). These governments were under capitalist regimes in which the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

In addition Marx did not intend for communism, but instead socialism. Communism was an invention by Vladimir Lenin, used by most communist governments today. This is known as Marxist-Leninism.

The differences between Communism and Socialism are also significant as Communism is held by the "conservatives", and socialism is a held belief by the "liberals." Communism is similar to a monarchy in which very few people head the government, ideally the party secretary, whereas Socialism is a economic system in which everyone has a say. Socialism was intended to take hold in democratic states where the transition to Socialism would be a simple change of overthrowing few powerful "capitalist pigs"
