Catholic AnswerThe Holy Father had crowned Otto as Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. When a new Pope was elected and tried to take his position of head in Rome, the nobles were giving him an extremely hard time of it. Otto fulfilled his role as protector of the Church and invaded and, shall we say, disciplined the errant nobles.
