Eliminate the battlefleet; cleanly and quickly.

To prevent the US from interfering in Japan's plans to conquer Asia & the Pacific.
I feel that it was a wast of japans resources. If they wanted Americans to join the war it would have bin smarter to stage battle plans on American ground so they would not be able to help with the war in Europe .Witch would have shorten the troops fighting by thousands witch would have given the Nazi party a much grater chance of holding Berlin . So if you ask this grade 6 pearl harbor was a big mistake.
The attack on Pearl Harbor aimed to cripple the US Pacific fleet. The Japanese were set to sweep into Burma, Malaya, the East Indies, and the Philippines, and were afraid the US fleet would spoil their plans.
To eliminate the US from interferring with their plans of conquest in the Pacific and Asia.
Yes there were believed to be 3 Japanese submarines on their way to pearl harbor but only 1 made it after people on a war ship thought they saw something in the water and dropped death charges. So there was 1 Japanese submarine that was in pearl harbor at the time of the booming and was sank by an allies plans bomb
Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, is located in the Pacific Ocean and is vulnerable to tsunamis due to its proximity to the Ring of Fire, a region known for seismic activity. In the past, Pearl Harbor has experienced tsunamis triggered by earthquakes in the Pacific Ocean. Emergency plans and warning systems are in place to mitigate the potential impact of tsunamis on the area.
They had prepared for another war with Germany almost immediately after WW1, but did not put the plans into effect until Pearl Harbor was attacked.
To prevent the US (by eliminating the Battleship Fleet based at Pearl Harbor) from interferring with their plans of conquest.
You could consider the attack on Pearl Harbor a defensive action. Yes they took the offensive and attacked us but by doing so they were defending their plans by damaging our Navy. Fortunately for us our aircraft carriers were not in the harbor at the time which left us with options, but the original plans the Japanese had was to attack while they were in the harbor as well.
The first serious plans and preparations for the actual attack began in January 1941. A hypothetical attack on the Pearl Harbor base had been on the exams given at the Japanese Naval Academy for years though. Both Japanese and Americans thought an attack on Pearl Harbor was not feasible because the torpedoes dropped from bomber ran too deep after dropping and would get stuck in the bottom of the harbor, a problem which Japan solved by practicing extreme low-level drops and fitting the torpedoes with wooden fins for extra buoyancy.
Yes, the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, directly set the stage for the Battle of Midway, which took place six months later. The surprise attack aimed to weaken the U.S. Pacific Fleet, but it ultimately galvanized American resolve and led to increased military mobilization. At Midway, U.S. forces successfully countered Japanese plans, turning the tide of the war in the Pacific. The battle marked a crucial shift in momentum following the devastating loss at Pearl Harbor.
