No change, cold war continued. War stocks compiled during the cold war were simply expended in Vietnam. The only "real" change was all of those experimental war machines finally got tested in the war and by a process of elimination were replaced by the ultimate war machine(s): Examples: F100 Super Sabre jet fighter bomber, F101 Voodoos, F102 Delta Daggers, F104 Starfighters, F105 Thunderchiefs, A4 Skyhawks, A6 Intruders, A7 Corsairs, F8 Crusaders, B57 Canberra Bombers, were all used in Vietnam, and nearly all used up in Vietnam (shot down or operational crashes)...all of those jet aircraft were REPLACED BY THE F4 PHANTOM! The F4 turned out to be ulitmate US Fighter Bomber; as well as the US's last fighter pilot "aces" (five or more aerial kills/dog-fighting air to air combat victories) of the 20th century.
