Germany had to pay reperations. The German army was allowed a max of 10,000 soldiers in the force. The Rhineland was taken and Germany had to accept the guilt clause (accepted World War 1 was there fault ) and as a result of signing the treaty the German public felt betrayed by the new Weimar republic and this caused deep hatred in many people aswell as Hitler.

Also American president at the time Woodrow Wilson felt that these terms were to harsh on the Germans and stated biz objections to the treaty. as a result of this America adopted the isolationist policy.
