Primarily, the major differences in the system of government, but also the general mentality of the common people; rugged individualism being rappent in the US - each person representing the bourgeosie - the every man was more focused on the pursuit of his own rise of power. By contrast, in the USSR (in the former part of it's regime at least) people were generally more focussed on the interests of the state rather than the fufilment of one's own goals.

This led to a vastly different social structure and class system between the "East" and the "West".

The United States and the Soviet Union had significant political differences during the Cold War era. The US was a capitalist democracy that promoted individual rights, free markets, and private ownership. In contrast, the USSR was a communist state with a centrally planned economy, where the government controlled the means of production and emphasized collective ownership. Additionally, the US valued political and civil liberties, while the USSR had a more authoritarian regime, suppressing dissent and imposing tight control over the media and political opposition.
