Cattle farming was too expensive, so many farmers moved out to the Plains for crop farming. There they had trouble with high interest in the banks, unfair railroad fees, and overproduction from other farmers.
Misery, civil war, prosecutions
It means to separate parts of a group. It was applied to the US from the Civil War (1865) to 1964, to mean the separate public and private facilities for white and black Americans, especially in the South. Some segregation gradually disappeared, notably the integration of US armed forces in 1948, finally enacted in the Korean War in 1950. All public segregation was finally prohibited officially by the Civil Rights Act of 1964.It means to separate from.
the farmers invented it for crop things.
The Potomac River insulated Washington DC from artillery batteries that could have at some point in the war been mounted to actually shell the capital from the shores of Virginia. For a time, early in the war, Southern artillery batteries did slow down sea traffic that would use the river to bring supplies to Washington DC. This opportunity, however, did not last long, and with Alexandria, Virginia soon occupied by the North. The Potomac River, however, did have fording points northwest of the city that did allow raiding forces from the South to cross and recross it multiple times during the four years of the war. By and large, however, the river did not effect the outcome of the US Civil War.
Same reason the 1920s were difficult for all Americans. Alcohol was illegal. ;)

After the US Civil War, many poor white farmers became sharecroppers, farming land owned by the wealthy planters in exchange for a percentage of their crop's yield.
The war cost a lot, but was fought by poor farmers.
It helped reunite the nation after the civil war!! time of solving the South's post-war problems
The failure of US Civil War generals and commanding officers to effectively communicate with each other and with their troops was a major problem in the US Civil War and in fact with any army in any war. And, it was not specifically related to any special form of tactics. With that said, physical obstacles placed special problems for linear tactics in the US Civil War. The large sweep of compact linear lines and even long columns, plagued commanders on each side of the war.
One major problem faced by the US after the US Civil War was the reintegration of southern sympathizers into society. There was still many who believed the secession from the United States was the right thing to do.
