I think Saratoga was one and that was when the British General John Burgoyne Surrendered to patriot forces at Saratoga on October 17, 1777. 5,000 British Red Coats had to surrender. That one group had 1/4 men as the entire Continental army. That means the Continental army had no more than 20,000 soldiers while the redcoats had 50,000. Then the battle of Brandywine creek happened on September 11, 1777. That was when the British captured the city of Philadelphia on September 26. The British were forced to retreat while 960 men of 1,100 had been wounded captured or killed. In the battle of Yorktown, the British were forced to surrender, and the colonists had gained independence.

I would say that the results were that the Patriots were proud of themselves for fending off Britain and many lives were lost. This is just a guess really, I'm having a SS test tomorrow.
