This is an awfully vague question. Generally, the hardships were suffered by almost everyone and consisted of the usual--poverty and grinding hard work. Transport wasn't very good, but then most people didn't or couldn't go anywhere anyway. The Elizabethan Era, and defining it in this way means we are talking about England, was a period of remarkable cultural flourishing, economic recovery and exploration. Lots of successes here.
