In architecture the Romans invented the vaulted arch (this is more complex that the simple barrel arch which was invented by the Etruscans) which has a great load bearing capacity, which helps with the construction of large scale buildings. They also developed a much better form of concrete which was as strong as modern concrete. This also helped with to construct large scale buildings.

The largest and most famous one was the Colosseum in the city of Rome, which is the largest structure they ever built.
