Even though the square keep castles had more windows, so soldier could see better which made them attack easier. There was only one point of entry which was the Draw bridge. Once the enemies break in or it they were most likely dead.
* They are round so if you knock down a little bit not all of it will fall down * The entrance is on the first floor so its harder to attack
there weaknesses were that it took a long time to build aand they were easy to take down............

A shell Keep is a rounded shaped castle which was built in the midevil times !!!!by Lauren xxx
Shell keep castles are medieval fortresses that are usually built upon a motte. They are made from stone. Some examples of stone keep castles include the Round Tower on Windsor Castle and the Clifford's Tower on York Castle.
They were built in the year 1172
about 37, 38
the problem with these type of castles was that there were many windows
Arrows can easily fly over the top into the castle, which is apparent in nearly all castles. There are not many other weaknesses, although the outer wall is slightly skinnier due to its shape. Also, enemies can easily surround the castle for no means of escape.

yes round shell castles did have moats
A shell on a castle is the round part on top. Since Norman Motte and Bailey castles were first made of wood, the castle was not sturdy enough to support the shell.
Shell keep castles are round rather than boxed. A castle that forms a circle is a perfect example. There are many in England.
