the women were pretty unexperienced with everything-childcare, being a mom, and cooking and cleaning took up most of their time. it was quite a schock to have the men leave and the women have to take over, not knowing much about factory work, which they did during the war. the women had to learn quickly to become up to speed with the already-established culture their husbands set up. childcare was also a problem because the women had to work and spent less time with their kids.

How women's lives changed during WW1When conscription to the army became compulsory, there were many jobs left unoccupied, so women had to do them. Some became posties, some police officers. Many women who had not worked before worked in munition factories resulting in their skin turning yellow and hair bright ginger. Some of them died of overexposure to TNT. Many women realized that they were not as useless as men had thought prior to the war, and they realised that they could do men's jobs just as well. Although they had to go back to not working when the men came back (by the summer of 1920, 60% of women who had become employed during WW1 were unemployed), the women working during the war started the fight for women to get equal rights. They were given the vote in 1918, although this was only women over 30 who owned property. This was probably one of the only good thing that came out of WW I.

Women did their husband's work in the factories while the men were off fighting. Women with medical training worked as nurses in the armed forces, where some of them were injured or killed.

they were effected greatly, because the men were out in war the women had a double role to do, this was to do factory work, housework and looking after the children feeding them food bathing them and it was difficult for the woman i guess it was not as difficult as it must have been in the world war for the men because they had to sacrifice their family, friends and everything at home and go to war to fight for their country.
