Dampen the area with equal parts white vinegar and water, then blot with clean dry towel. To help dry carpet more thoroughly, leave a clean, dry towel over area after cleaning and place a few heavy books on top of towel and leave overnight. This should help remove the urine stain, as well as the urine odor.

∙ 14y agoIf your pet has had an accident in the house?. Make a strong solution of baking soda and just enough water to dissolve it. Mix some perfumed essential oil ( lemon is good) in and spread or spray over the affected area. Vacuum up any dried residue and you won't know you've had a problem. Of course this action is required fairly soon after the the accident.
