Depending on the state you live in, you could be slapped with a $25,000 Federal fine after discovery.
Mechanically, you are removing an exhaust restriction, so the air will move through the engine easier, but this effect will be negated by the ECM adjusting for the new O2 sensor readings because it will see it as a lean condition and ruin your fuel mileage.
You will need a tuner to do this modification correctly, and you won't be able to run this vehicle on the road any more.
In the end, I know any performance issues you might have can NOT be solved by simply removing the catalytic converter.
It is illegal pretty much everywhere to do this and the vehicle may not run properly if the converter is missing. I'm sure you don't need a lecture on pollution... Either your converter is bad or you want to maximize air flow. If the converter is bad, replace it. If you want to maximize air flow get a free flowing designed cat, but I would say with your truck being a 2001 it already has one.
Firs off, it is illegal to remove the converter. Secondly, the engine will not run correctly with the converter removed. Leave it alone, or if it is defective, replace it with a new one.
it is illegal to remove a catalytic converter.
First thing is that it is illegal to remove the converter from any vehicle. Secondly the engine will not run properly without the converter in place.
Loose of power, hard starting, poor fuel mileage, and the converter will get red hot.
If the torque converter is loose it can do alot of damage to the transmission too. My ex- had to replace the transmission because the bolts were not put in correctly when someone else had changed something out. He had to put in a new transmission and torque converter. If it is running too rough you may have to change it all out. Check the bolts first to make sure everything is tight. If it is then you'll probably need new trany and torque converter.
You tell them you're straight.
it becomes straight
If you do replace it correctly, it will work as designed.
Straight men are too straight to be gay. so dats not gonna happen to a straight guy wad ever his age be.
Your check engine light will come on and you will fail emissions.
Depending on where you live, you MAY be in violation of emissions law.
