If you don't follow the directions and dry them flat, they will more than likely shrink unevenly and the fabric may pucker up. You may be able to rescue the wrinkly fabric with an iron, but if the jeans shrink unevenly, you're out of luck unless you are an expert sewer who can pick open the seams, realign the fabric and then sew them back together. Of course, these disasters may not happen at all, but its better to follow the directions and be safe not sorry.
Your Diesel jeans won't shrink at all if you dry them.
When the lie flat and dry they do not the option of TUMBLE in the dryers which softens them
2 options: 1) where them for a day and dont wash them. later they will be saggy enough. or 2) when you wash your skinny jeans, dont dry them in the dryer. leave them to dry. If you dry them in the dryer, they will continously shrink.

Wash the jeans inside out on a cold cycle in the washer. Next put them in the dryer for about 15 minutes to get the wrinkles out before hanging them to dry.
For just the wash, about 14 pounds of dry clothes. For wash and dry, the LG Washer Dryer Combo will accommodate 9-10 pounds of dry clothes. (The equivalent of 5 large towels or 2 pairs of jeans and 3 shirts.)
Take sandpaper and rub them to your desired look then wash and dry them once or twice.
Turn them inside-out, button them up, and machine-wash them (cycle doesn't matter) with other things of similar color in COLD water. If you really care about these jeans and paid a lot of money for them, or if they have metal bits (other than buttons) or rhinestones on them, do not put them in the dryer; turn them right-side-out, fold them flat on the seams, and put them on a hanger to air-dry. If you put them in the dryer, make sure you keep them inside-out in the dryer as well. If they have any spandex in them (check the fabric label), dry them on Medium or Perma-Press, NOT high heat. High heat is okay for 100% cotton.
Levi's 559 are rinsed. With any new pair of jeans, shrinkage can be avoided by not allowing the pants to dry fully in a dryer. Allow them to partially dry on medium heat, then air dry for best results.
They should be dried in a dryer or set out to dry for an extended period of time.
Plug a blow dryer in and dry it.
