Long term, nothing short of a new gasket. Short term, in an emergency, something like JB Weld might do it, but would probably increase the cost of repair later.
Sandwiched between the head(s) and the block.
Well, a blown head gasket isn't cheap at all, no matter the vehicle, but in my experience around $1500
pay a mechanic $700 or buy a $2.00 for sale sign
I know for my 2000 model it is 1st to 50ft-lbs and then to 105ft-lbs.
How much to repair a head gasket for a 2002 dodge stratus
it could be a number of things including..timing,thermostat,fan clutch, blockage in radiator,or blown valve cover gasket seals or worse blown head gasket
Well, if you take off the head,on the engine, you will see the gasket.
My 2001 Dakota is currently in the shop as I'm typing this for a Head Gasket to be replaced. The price tag my mechanic told me is a minimum of $2000.00. Could be more depending on the condition of the heads and what not. Has been in his shop for exactly one week and I'm looking to have it back by the end of this week.
Yes, that is possible. A blown head gasket will destroy the engine.
not normal but head gaskets can go bad anytime. Sure it's the head gasket? White smoke out the tail pipe, coolant goes low( but not leaking on ground) & compression low in one or 2 cyl.
It is in between the cylinder head and the block.
