Could do any number of things. Not start at all. Start and run fine and take random spells of misfiring. Could start and run fine while it's cold then start running worse as it warms up. You can pull the ICM and take it down to AutoZone where they can test if for free. Have them test it several times until it gets warmed up. A lot of times these won't show being bad until they get hot.

The gas tank on a 1991 Chevrolet Lumina holds 17.1 gallons, and it takes regular unleaded fuel. The car comes with a 3-speed automatic transmission.
Location is in the passenger side inner fenderwell under a plastic cover that just unsnaps to expose ECM. I just pulled one off a 1991 euro lumina and it was in a small black box (alittle bigger than a pack of cigarrets) under the steering column.
how to add coolant to 1991 lumina?
You should find the ECM (Engine Control Module) also known as PCM (Power Control Module) under the right side of the dash (passenger side).
The speed sensor on a 90 lumina 3.1 should be on the drivers side top of the tranny, below the steering rod. Sould be a screw in sensor with wires attached.
The ecm (engine control module)
my 1990 is doing same thing i dont know whats going on yet? have u figured yours out?
I just learned something ! That the EEC computer and the powertrain control module are the same thing ! On the 1991 and 1992 models the powertrain control module (PCM) is located in the right front passenger area behind the right side kick panel.
