if the pip sensor is going bad you can have intermittent no starts or extended crank starts, it may start and run fine, however the next time you try to start it say after work, it won't start, wait a while( perhaps a long while ) and it may start and act like normal for a day or two.
If you are reffering the the Tempature Sensor. That is located on the head pretty much underneith the distributor. Signs that your Tempature Sensor is going out or faulty are once the vehicle is at full operating tempatures & it is turned off. the vehicle will have trouble starting back up. The vehicle will only have trouble turning on when engine is warm. no problem on a cold start.
On a vehicle it is a Mass AirFlow sensor. It measures the amount of air going into the engine.
Not knowing what vehicle its on....i can only give u some broad things to look for. First check to see if u have 12v power with the key on going to your coil. You also may want to check the hall effect sensor in the distributor it tells the coil to fire. hope that might help u some.
It could
A VSS sensor is the Vehicle speed sensor and it is located on the transmission. It tells the computer how fast you are going and operates the speedometer and the ABS system.
The sensor in the differential may be bad. Also the wires going to the sensor may have rubbed against a brake line causing them to short. The sensor in mounted on top of the differential and reads the vehicle speed.
It's used for the speedometer and the cars ECU (computer). It tells both how fast your going.
In order: Engine coolant may not be full. Sensor may be damaged or stuck. Wiring may be damaged. OE charge of DexCool and supplemental sealant may cause sensor to stick. BCM or IPC may be damaged.
Speed sensor needs to be replaced in the engine, look speed sensor up for your vehicle
It is important to know how fast a vehicle is going for many reasons. Since speed effects handing and braking times, you can't make proper driving decisions if you do not know how fast you are going. Speed sensors measure how fast a vehicle is going.
This problem can occur with any of the following conditions: Your VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) is going bad ECM (engine control module) is going bad Loose/frayed/damaged wiring There might be other possible causes, but these are the ones I have come across as I am trying to fix my speedometer that is having the same issue.
it is located under the distributor cap. It's the plate under the cap that has the wires going to it
