∙ 14y agoActually there are several very hard woods used to make garden furniture. Teak wood is probably the most popular while Ipê and Iron wood are becoming more and more popular.
This is because these and other hard tropical woods are saturated with a waxy resin that most bugs and mold have trouble dealing with. Even untreated and/or unfinished these woods will last for years outside in all types of weather. The down side is that they all turn gray from the action of the Sun on the protective resin in the wood.
If you are looking for garden furniture that will last for years, the 3 mentioned here are your best bet.
