I would draw circles for the magnesuim in one colour and the oxygen in another and the fire in another then show the particle merged together with the different colours to show the compound od MgO
MAGNISUMOXIDE
To prevent the magnesium or sodium reacting with oxygen in the air
We represent the particles (atoms) in magnesium metal as spheres stacked closely together. Magnesium burns when these particles react with the oxygen particles in the surrounding air. The oxygen particles are represented as molecules consisting of two oxygen atoms bonded together. We represent this as two spheres pressed together. The product of the reaction is magnesium oxide and we represent this by joining one of the oxygen spheres to one of the magnesium spheres.
magnesium is an element ----------------------------------------------- Magnesium may react with a number of different substances to form compounds. An example is magnesium reacting with oxygen to form magnesium oxide (MgO)
The compound formed by magnesium and oxygen is called magnesium oxide.
Metal reacting with oxygen is known as oxidation. A common form of this process is found in the rusting of iron, where the iron reacts with oxygen to form iron oxide (known as rust).
Magnesium oxide. It's produced by magnesium reacting with oxygen.
[well you would show the 2 diffrent particle (oxygen and magnesium) with 1 magnesium particle and 2 oxygen ones attached to it . this is known as MgO2] i believe it is MgO as the electron number is too big to support 2 molecules of oxygen
To prevent the magnesium or sodium reacting with oxygen in the air
Mostly the magnesium is reacting with oxygen to produce magnesium oxide. 2Mg + O2 --> 2MgO But some of the magnesium reacts with nitrogen to produce magnesium nitride. 3Mg + N2 --> Mg3N2
First off, it doesn't burn more, it burns quicker. This is because It's reacting with the oxygen, and in a 100% oxygen environment there's simply more oxygen to react with (the air is 21% oxygen).

The formula for ozone reacting to form oxygen is O3+O= 2O2

Magnesium and oxygen as in magnesium oxide

Magnesium reacts violently with oxygen to make Magnesium Oxide
