He sat up in respect of the funeral and when asked who he does so for a Jewish funeral who didn't believe in you as prophet and did not believe in Islam. Prophet Muhammad answered them : is not a human soul that should be respected.
Just walk silently, pray for the dead if you wish with mercy and forgiveness, and meet the dead's relatives and say "Al Baqaa Lillah/ eternity is only for God", "may you be granted with patience".
