What would cause a 1992 Dodge Spirit to run hotter when sitting at a stop light idling?

It is either low on coolant or the cooling fans aren't operating properly. Also the cause could be the thermostat not opening and closing when its surpost to... if your car has one of those guages for temp such as mine then it might be a faulty guage, temp sensor or the sensor that opperates the fan... if the fan is kicking on and off like it should then theres nothing wrong with that, it might just be as simple as a thermostat or low coolant
