One reason a 1998 Cadillac Deville would cut off while driving could be the fuel pump or the car is out of fuel. Another reason could be the spark plugs.
You have a hole in your brake line.
From all of my experience with cars if a car turns off while in motion it tends to be the alternator.
crank or camshaft sensor check for codes put your beauiful car on the neutral when you're braking you'll stop to stall
check the wheel bearing
Possibly a clogged fuel filter. or faulty fuel pump, amongst other things
The coolant temp sensor is probably doing its job. You may have other issues such as being low on coolant or a thermostat going bad.
transmission leak in reverse only
While any competent shop should be able to service this, a Cadillac dealer will have the most direct experience.
Possibly the crank case oil sensor. Had the same symptoms on a Buick LeSabre '91
Not a question. Operator error.
Well the 96 sedan deville has a 4.6liter pushing out 300hp while the Lincoln town car has the same liters but only 260hp. deville goes around 7 mph more
If a 1996 Cadillac Sedan DeVille is making a backfire noise from the engine compartment while at a steady speed, it is probably due to a bad oxygen sensor. The vehicle could also have one cylinder that is not firing or a problem with missing exhaust or the catalytic converter.
