>is the engine using carburetor or EFi as fuel supply ?
>manual or automatic transmission ?
>when was the last engine tune-up?
>is the engine compression still meets the specification ?
>perform engine tune-up as the first option.
>follow engine specified parts and proper/recommended procedure.
>standard procedure,
>replace sparkpugs, air filter element. fuel filter. change oil and filter. and check alternator voltage, check/clean/replace PCV , check/clean carburetor (if equipped), check all carburetor settings , automatic choke system, acceleration system, idling system and metering system, magnetic cut off switch,
basically the entire carburetor assy. replace base gasket upon reinstallation.
>adjust valves if necessary.
>check EGR system.
>check idling speed, (comes with tune-up procedure)
>check also for any vacuum leaks around the engine.
>check the vacuum hose and valve on hydrovac of your brake master cylinder.
any brake fluid leak within the hydrovac will dilute incoming air to the engine and may cause engine roughness to stalling.
>check for any abnormal noise from the hydrovac or behaviour of your brake pedal.
for EFI engine,
perform the above procedure but this time, is the throttle body that must be clean and settings recheck/reset.
last, check transmission for any internal trouble,
all above procedure is best if a scan tool or diagnostic tool is present for verification of work done,
what would cause a 1994 Buick LeSabre v6 to turn off going down the road.
It is located on the passenger side close to the firewall and it is down low
I would need a little more information about your problem. Did the check engine light come on? After it shut down did it start back up? How were you driving when this occured?
Could be a vacuum leak. Check the PCV pipe and replace any air hoses.
A short in the wires.
Possibly the crank case oil sensor. Had the same symptoms on a Buick LeSabre '91
I had the same problem with my 98 buick regal gs and it turned out to be the ignition switch.
Very likely an alternator problem; if the alt is not working soon the battery would be drained and the truck would shut off.
yes, that or you have them shut off on the dash.
My ignition relay was damaged and it caused my starter to go out, which cause my car to shut down.
An electrical short or computer error....should be seen by your auto service facility
When the knights rode their horses and charged at each other they would yell "shut up" and that meant to shut their helmets.
