Posible reasons: * Damaged Vehicle speed sensor ( VSS) Located on top of rear diferencial * Bad connection on: ╟ VSS Harness... ╟ Programmable Speedometer / Odometer Module (PSOM) Located on dash... ╟ PCM Computer Harness... ╟ All around grounding sistem... * Some times bad ground can cause the electrical sistem to pull ground from another circuit conected ( PSOM ) and change the resistance drasticly. Make shure all wires and all connections are clean before jumping on conclusions, remember... it's been out for 14 years. good lock... Raúl C.
Possibly your speed sensor. My speedometer would bounce around & then soon after it felt like my transmission was slipping. Turns out the speed sensor controls the upshift in your transmission.
i would have to bet on the speed sensor
Faulty vehicle speed sensor.
speed sensor
Bad wheel speed sensor or cluster needs replaced
That would be called the speedometer.
That would be called the speedometer.
well one of the problems might be the speed-do cable either being old or needs to be tighten.
I would call it current speed, not average speed.
Broken speed cable. probably doesn't have a cable it works off of a vehicle speed sensor. it could be bad
There is no speedometer cable on a 1995 caravan. it is done by a speed sensor on the transmission and digtal data is sent to the computer and the computer then sends the signal to the speedometer. This is the case even when the speedometer looks analog. Likely a bad speedometer is the cause if it does not move as the speed sensor is used for other functions and would trip the "check engine" light if it was bad. the speedometer is part of the instrument cluster and likely you would need to change the whole thing.
The speed sensor needs replaced. It is on the trans.
