The sound is coming from the drivers side wheel vicinity and can be heard better when the window is rolled up (less outside noise to drown it out?) It does not occur when standing still. The sound is cyclical according to how fast I am going. It squeals faster as the car speeds up and like wise slows down when I do. It is not likely the brakes as it is not a high pitched whine like the brakes and makes the sound when not braking. It was faint a few days ago but is steadily getting louder.
If your car makes a squealing sound when you are turning it is because your brakes have worn out. When the brakes wear down below a certain point, a wire pops loose. That makes a squeaking sound.
The sound is most likely the brakes squealing. Check the pads to make sure that the metal part isn't cutting into the rotor.
The squealing sound in brakes is caused by dust and dirt in the brakes. Also, more commonly, it is caused by worn pads or shoes. On disk brakes there is a wear indicator. This will rub against the disk and squeel when brake pads are worn to where they need replacing.
Check for a vacuum leak around the throtle body and intake manifold.
The squealing sound you hear when your car brakes are wearing out is referred to as a "squealer." This indicator is a strip of metal that when the brake pad wears down makes contact with the rotor making a metal on metal noise.
The cause of the squealing sound is because you are turning the steering wheel completely to the right or left
Some manufactures use a wear indicator that causes a squealing sound when the pads need to be replaced.
Many times the newer non asbestos pads will get dirty or the hardware will and will cause a squeaking sound, also these pads have a piece of metal that will contact the rotor when they are ready to be replaced, the squeak is a reminder to get them changed soon. Either way you should have them looked at.
A hog sometimes makes a snorting sound, and sometimes makes a squealing sound.
If you hear the squealing when applying the brakes, the pads are worn out and need replacing ASAP. Failure to replace the pads immediately will result in worn out rotors which will also need replacing. If the squealing noise is not when braking it may be a worn drive belt.
Have u checked the bearings?
The grinding sound means that the brake pads are worn down to metal and that sound you hear is metal to metal. you need to have the pads changed, the problem is that you will more than likely have to change the rotors also. The way to avoid this in the future is when you notice your brakes are making a squealing sound that means that the pads will need to be changed soon.
